ORNL and the Nevada National Security Site, or NNSS, are partners on experiments related to national security. NNSS, operated by the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration, conducts research for national defense programs and national security.
ORNL’s user facilities offer a diverse set of tools for experiments across a range of fields, including biology, materials and energy sciences, physics, engineering, and chemistry. ORNL and Nevada National Security Site in Mercury are partners in experiments related to national and nuclear security. Separately, ORNL is working with the site to develop a pellet injector for fusion science.
